All-on-4 Q & A

What is All-on-4 treatment?

As you age, there are many different reasons why you can lose your teeth. Often times, improper oral care habits can lead to periodontal disease, causing widespread tooth loss. Even with proper brushing and flossing, it is still possible for teeth to become loose through injury or normal wear-and-tear. Whatever the reasons, experiencing tooth loss, especially in later life, is quite normal.

Fortunately, today’s modern world of dentistry has designed many solutions to replace lost teeth, helping to restore your smile, improve the health of your mouth, and bring back your confidence. All-on-4 serves to seamlessly and easily restore a complete set of lost teeth in a permanent and sturdy manner.

How does All-on-4 work?

All-on-4 treatment is a happy medium between individual tooth implants and removable dentures. All-on-4 gets its name from the fact that it involves placing four dental implants into your jawbone. Once these implants are installed, a full set of teeth can be attached to the implants, fixing them firmly and permanently in place.

All-on-4 can be done for either the upper or lower set of teeth, or both. Once installed, All-on-4 replacement teeth are not removable like dentures, and in certain cases, they are ready to be used immediately after placement.

What are the advantages of All-on-4?

If you are looking for ways to replace your lost teeth, then you are probably already familiar with just how many solutions are available today. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages, depending on your needs. All-on-4 provides the convenience and permanence of replacement implant teeth with an easier installation process than individually placed implants, making them an attractive option for many people.

In many cases, All-on-4 treatment is much shorter than individual dental implants. In fact, the team will be able to replace a full arch of teeth on the same day of surgery, allowing you to return to your normal activities in a shorter time frame. In addition, All-on-4 usually cost much less than individual implants. Like individual implants, however, All-on-4 teeth are permanently fixed, meaning that they are not taken out as dentures are. This helps to improve the comfort and function of the teeth.
